I made my way up Mulholland Drive and over to the North entrance of Runyon Canyon to begin one of the hardest runs (if not the hardest) I've ever done. On the way over, I was all business baby, as documented by the photograph below.

I began the run down and ran into (get it?) Tokle on the way. He joined me to the bottom, and the further we went, the more I realized how big, long, and steep the hard loop was going to be.
After a quick stretch, I started the long run up. Needless to say, I didn't make it very far - that hill is insanely steep. I made it to the shady tree, where I had to stop and catch my breath. The shady tree is probably only like 150-200 yards up. I suck. But, I did sprint up all of the hard parts (there are two or three more really long and incredibly steep hills.) In retrospect, I should've walked the steep parts and jogged in between them. Maybe that will be my game plan next time.
Oh, and I forgot to take an "after" photograph - but I was much more sweaty and disappointed than in the picture above.
