A few months ago, my friend Tokle and I visited an arcade warehouse down the street from our office after work. As he was checking out the pinball tables, I fell in love with a custom Multicade machine that they had set up. The only problem was that it cost over $3,000.
A few days later, I was still considering buying the machine when I realized that I could build my own, more flexible arcade machine for a fraction of the price. So I went back to the arcade warehouse and bought an empty arcade cabinet, which has been sitting in the middle of my dining room for the past three months or so. I also bought a bunch of the parts (joysticks, monitor, etc.) but they're sitting on my dining room table instead of being in the cabinet. The whole thing is kind of an eyesore (and you can't really play it), so I'm going to finish assembling the arcade machine and make it look all spiffy before the end of the month.
