Challenge Ideas

This is a list of ideas for challenges. If you have some ideas, feel free to contribute in the comments section below!

Arts & Crafts

  • Take a photograph every day. Maybe limit that photograph to a particular theme, like portraits.
  • Keep a notebook and draw in it every day.
  • Learn how to screen print and make custom T-shirts.

Food

  • Go vegan/vegetarian for a month. Or if you're already vegan/vegetarian, maybe you could have a steak a day :).
  • Try eating one "crazy" thing per week - things like frog, live octopus, fertile chicken eggs, snake blood, etc.
  • Don't go out to eat for a whole month. (Do this with a challenge group and have tons of dinner parties and save tons of money!)

Health & Exercise

  • Cycle a total of 600 miles in one month.
  • Get to a point where you can do 100 consecutive push ups.
  • Learn Yoga/Pilates.

Education

  • Learn basic conversational Portuguese. Then reward yourself by taking a trip to Brazil.
  • Read a book every week. Choose Your Own Adventure books don't count.

Music

  • Learn how to play every song by the Beatles.
  • Learn how to solo "Freebird." And then never, ever play it because that song is way too long.

Misc.

  • Go on a road trip each weekend in a month.
  • Ditch the car and walk, ride a bike, or take public transportation to work every day.
  • Go a month without: a cell phone; television; the internet.

Self Improvement

  • Volunteer at a soup kitchen twice a week.
  • Help someone every day.
  • Go to church/temple every day/week.
  • Try to catch up with old friends and contact one per day.

Self Destruction

  • Watch every episode of a TV show which has ended (The Wire, Sopranos, Seinfeld, etc.)
  • Brew your own beer.
  • Beat or reach a certain level in a video game.
  • Learn to play poker and enter a live tournament.
